T-Mobile company buying10MHz of spectrum from U.S. Cellular

The T-Mobile company announced Today that it is buying 10MHz of Advanced Wireless Service (AWS) from U.S. Cellular. The price that T-Mobile is paying for the spectrum is $308 million in cash. The purchased spectrum covers 32 million people in 29 markets and will allow T-Mobile to bring 4G LTE service to new markets, and expand the service in areas where the carrier already offers it in the Mississippi Valley region.

Some of the areas covered by the purchase include St. Louis; Nashville; Kansas City; Memphis; Lexington; Little Rock-North Little Rock; Birmingham; New Orleans; and Louisville. The deal still needs to receive certain regulatory approval from the FCC and the DOJ and is expected to close in the fourth quarter.

Sony SmartWatch coming next week

Sony company released a few SmartWatchs branded devices that didn't quite make an impression with consumers, likely because of a thin feature set and high price tag. But, it looks like the release of the Pebble, and the rumors of  SmartWatchs being developed by :Apple, Google , and Microsoft have given Sony courage to try again before the rush.

Sony has sent out a couple of tweets teasing a new SmartWatch that it will be showing off at the Mobile Asia Expo, which will be taking place next week June 26th to the 28th in Shanghai. The first tweet cites a statistic from BI Intelligence that says "1/3 smartphone users want smart wrist wear", and the second tweet actually shows off what looks to be the last SmartWatch released last year.
No word on what to expect from the Sony SmartWatch, but we'll be looking out for the news.
