Gmail for iOS gets new 2013 update

Gmail for iOS has received an update on Monday that allows it to work better with other Google related apps. After the update, users will be able to click on links for Chrome, Google Maps and YouTube directly inside Gmail and be whisked away to the iOS app for each of them, instead of getting sent to the mobile web. It might not be earth shattering, but it is a little convenience that might make your life a tad smoother. And if you'd rather be sent to the mobile web, the update thoughtfully includes a way to disable this new feature.

Another new feature that comes with the update now allows you to sign out of Gmail accounts individually. Gmail for iOS allows for 5 separate accounts that you can easily switch between. Before the update, ending the session on one account would automatically sign you off all of your other open accounts, a feature that thankfully has been removed.

The Gmail app for the
Apple iPhone and Apple iPad is a free download from iTunes.
